Hospice Care Services
Hospice Care is a service that goes to the patient, whether cared for in their home, apartment, or nursing home. This is a specialized health care delivery system. Hospice delivers a set of well recognized, high quality services at the cease of life to our patients, residents and their family. End of life care is very different from general medical services and quite specialized. Our nursing centers provide custodial care, just as a family would in a home structure, where hospice primary tends to the end of life needs of the patient. The roles of hospice and our nursing centers work together, yet they are very distinct.
Who May Qualify for Hospice Care?
In order to be eligible to elect hospice care under Medicare, an individual must be entitled to Part A of Medicare and certified as being terminally ill by a physician and having a prognosis of 6 months or less if the disease runs its normal course.
